What Appliances Are In The Great British Bake Off This Year?

With the palette of pastel colours, it is always utterly charming in the Great British Bake Off tent. We’ve been busy looking at what appliances are being used on the show this year – read on to find out what we’ve discovered.

Whilst we’ve seen many things change in the Great British Bake Off over the years, from the presenters and tasks to even the channel, one thing which has always remained firmly in place is the look and feel of the kitchen in the tent.

We’ve been paying special attention to what gadgets have been selected in 2022. The aesthetically appealing pastel appliances are not only desirable for their looks, but to earn a place in that kitchen, their performance must be excellent too.

Oven

A regular fixture now in the Great British Bake Off tent is the Neff oven with their signature slide-and-hide doors. Slotting seamlessly and elegantly into the bottom of the oven, they allow the bakers to get super close to their showstoppers to make testing, basting and monitoring the bakes easier than ever!

As well as their hidden door technology, Neff ovens have a range of additional high-end features such as steam cooking and CircoTherm tech which ensures an even spread of the hot air throughout the oven.

Retro fridge-freezer

Another “must” in the kitchen tent is a retro fridge-freezer. The 1950s look would not be completed without it! We’re struggling to recognise which model is on set this year, so we thought instead we would reveal our favourite brand of these: Smeg. These statement fridge-freezers have soft round curves and are hailed for their excellent performance.

Microwave

You’d be forgiven for thinking a microwave is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about baking, but for the odd jobs like softening butter when every minute counts, they certainly have their uses! Donning the tent this year is a Swan microwave from the Nordic style range. It fits the Bake Off kitchen perfectly with the natural wooden textures and soft colours.

Stand Mixers

Retuning to the tent this year is the KitchenAid Artisan stand mixers. Functionally, these stand mixers are always receiving outstanding reviews and aesthetically, they certainly add some baking kudos to any kitchen. Any budding “star baker” is sure to have one of these on their Christmas list!
